A correctional officer from Chester County stands accused of engaging in the illicit trade of narcotics within the confines of the Chester County Prison in Pocopson Township, spanning from June to September. According to county detectives, Antoine Williams, a 27-year-old resident of Philadelphia, was released on $150,000 bail following his arraignment before District Judge James Kovaleski this Tuesday. Williams faces charges related to the delivery of controlled substances.
Acting Warden Howard Holland of Chester County explained that the discovery of this illegal drug distribution was prompted by routine prison protocols. Subsequently, the case was handed over to Chester County detectives for a thorough investigation.
"The defendant was hired as a correctional officer to uphold the law and keep order in the prison, but he completely violated his position of authority," District Attorney Deb Ryan said. “No one is above the law. My office will hold him accountable for his unlawful actions.”
As per the police report, the investigation reveals that on June 25, an inmate alerted prison staff about Williams smuggling drugs into the facility concealed within compact rolls of small trash bags.
This informant further stated that his former cellmate, Jonathan Aguilera, had obtained Suboxone from Williams through a cash app transaction. Subsequently, a thorough search of the prison was conducted, discovering a roll of small trash bags in Aguilera’s cell. Aguilera provided a urine sample, which yielded a positive result for Suboxone.
Aguilera admitted to purchasing Suboxone at a rate of $50 per strip from Williams between April and June 2023. Additionally, he confessed to buying marijuana and Percocet. Another inmate came forward, revealing that Williams utilized Aguilera as a conduit for distributing Suboxone, tobacco, and K-2 to fellow inmates. K-2, a synthetic designer drug, is engineered to emulate the effects of THC.
